Coach Chris was a major part in my early and transition to playing high level basketball ensuring a daily work ethic to acquire a versatile skill set. From making sure I’m putting in the work required to be elite, to opening up his home to me. Coach Chris was willing to do whatever it took to make sure I was developing. I’m Forever Grateful for my growth as a player through unique hoops, and I use intangibles learned from coach Chris and apply it daily to my professional basketball career.

“Unique Hoops is a family. From a young age, Coach Chris and the entire Unique Hoops organization pushed me to be a better basketball player in all facets of the game. The level of work and improvement you will see your game is unmatched. Not only will they make you a better basketball player, but more importantly they make you a better person by fostering a family environment where everyone pushes each other to get better on and off the court.”

“I first went to Unique Hoops in the 3rd grade. Coach Chris set a foundation for fundamentals and development, but also instilled the discipline to be successful on and off the court. If you are in the Fredrick County area and are serious about your game Unique Hoops is the place to be. Everyone there is treated like family, and those relationships will continue for the rest of your life.”

One of the most important lessons I learned at Unique Hoops is the importance of just showing up. It’s where I first started to practice consistently and there were plenty of hard workouts that pushed me outside of my comfort zone leaving me frustrated at the end. But I kept showing up and kept applying myself. Eventually those frustrations turned into successes. Those experiences helped me get to where I am today and ingrained the habit of continuing to show up and improving 1% each day.

What Coach Chris and Unique Hoops have done for me shaped the person that I am today. I went from a kid who couldn’t dribble with my left hand, and didn’t start playing organized basketball until 6th grade, to now playing professionally. Coach Chris gave me all the tools I needed to reach this level. He taught me that you don’t have to be the biggest, fastest, or most athletic. But if you outwork everyone each and every day, that work ethic will always set you apart. Coach Chirs welcomed me into his home with open arms, but he never took it easy on me. He’ll push you to your limits and bring out the best. The only question is, how bad do you want it?

Unique Hoops has meant a lot to me. From the sport of basketball, to the hard work and discipline in life. I have learned a lot from being in the program. Coach Chris was hard on me at times, but I knew it was all for a purpose, and it was out of love. I can’t thank coach Chris enough for what he has taught me.

KOP is family! Coach Chris is someone who means a lot to me personally. I played with some good players in high school, but I was searching for a place to grow. From the first game I ever played for Coach Chris it was all love. He gave me a place to showcase my talent, as we traveled across the county, playing high level players and teams. Usually after you stop playing for someone, your relationship with them goes away, but Coach Chris always stayed in touch, and we talk to this day. KOP is loyalty and I’m forever grateful for the lessons that Coach Chris has taught me on and off the court, even paving the way for me as a businessman. KOP is for LIFE!

Unique Hoops has meant having people with like minded goals and drives to become the best player or person they can be. It’s given me many cherished memories with past teammates and summer camps to grow as a person and a player. Family is everything with KOP!

My first time at Unique Hoops was back in 4th grade. At first, it had its ups and downs, but by the time I hit 6th grade, I was constantly in Coach Chris’s ear, begging to work out with the older guys. He used to just laugh it off, but I stayed on him…every workout, every chance I got. Eventually, he gave in and let me jump in. From that day on, he didn’t treat me like a little kid. He held me to the same standard as the older players and pushed me every step of the way.
Coach Chris has played a huge role in my development, not just as a basketball player, but as a person. He helped shape me into a strong, skilled athlete and pushed me to achieve goals I used to only dream about. Off the court, he’s been an even bigger influence…someone who’s guided me, challenged me, and helped me grow into a better man. I’ve been lucky to have him in my corner all these years.
