COACH CHRIS, FOUNDER

Born in Washington D.C., Chris Rhone, is a prominent figure in the world of basketball and an influential coach who has made significant contributions to the sport. In 2009, Rhone took his passion for basketball and youth and created Unique Hoops Basketball Academy, the first after school program that combined education with elite basketball training in the state of Virginia. In pursuit of this vision, Unique Hoops now continues to focus on skill development, personal growth, character building, and academic excellence.

Prior to starting Unique Hoops Basketball Academy, Rhone’s early journey took him to Shenandoah University, where he was one of the top players in the nation and he earned his bachelor’s degree in Administration of Justice. After completing his education, Rhone was determined to make a positive impact on the lives of student-athletes. He was an Assistant Coach at Shenandoah Valley Christian Academy, and the head coach of Virginia Academy where he led the team to a State Championship..

His coaching philosophy centers on building strong relationships with children, inspiring them to set ambitious goals, and empowering them to overcome challenges with resilience and determination.

With his dedication and passion for the game, Rhone has become a driving force in shaping the future of basketball in multiple communities, and he has garnered widespread recognition and accolades. Through his guidance, Rhone has mentored and developed hundreds of student athletes who have gone on to achieve successful collegiate and professional basketball careers.
